Remote Controlled Fire Fighting Robot

A Remote Controlled Fire-Fighting Robot (RCFFR) is a mobile robot that approaches a fire while the operator stays at a safe distance. It carries a water/foam tank with high-pressure pump (or CO₂ canister), a pan-tilt nozzle, and flame/temperature sensors to locate hot spots. Control is wireless via RF, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi/FPV, and the drive train uses geared DC/BLDC motors for strong torque. This project demonstrates wireless control, motor driving, fluid handling, safety design, and real-time video telemetry—perfect for diploma/degree students.

Parts Used:
  1. Chassis & Drive – 4WD/Tracked base with metal frame and skid-steer turning.
  2. Motors & Drivers – Geared DC/BLDC motors with H-bridge motor drivers (dual channel).
  3. Microcontroller – Arduino/ESP32 or similar for drive, pump, and sensor control.
  4. Wireless Module – RF/Bluetooth joystick link or Wi-Fi with app control.
  5. Pump & Tank – 12 V diaphragm pump (3–6 L/min) with non-return valve and 1–3 L tank.
  6. Pan-Tilt Nozzle – Servo-based 2-axis mount for directional spray; quick-disconnect hose.
  7. Sensors – Flame (IR), temperature (NTC/MLX90614), optional gas (MQ-2) and smoke.
  8. Camera (FPV) – Wi-Fi/analog camera with LED headlight for low-light operation.
  9. Power System – 3S/4S Li-ion/LiPo battery, BMS, fuse/MCB, main switch, and wiring harness.
  10. Safety – Emergency stop, current protection, low-voltage cutoff; waterproof enclosure.
  11. Wheels/Suspension – High-grip tyres or tracks; optional spring bogies for rough terrain.
  12. Accessories – Pressure gauge, flow control, cable management, carry handle.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Advantages:
  1. Safe Standoff Operation – Fight small fires without endangering the operator.
  2. Targeted Suppression – Pan-tilt spray and sensors help aim at flame/hot spots precisely.
  3. All-Terrain Mobility – 4WD/tracks and high torque for debris or uneven floors.
  4. Real-Time Awareness – FPV camera with lights improves visibility in smoke/darkness.
  5. Customizable – Swap nozzles/agents (water, foam, CO₂) and add autonomous modes.
  6. Great Learning Value – Covers robotics, wireless control, fluid dynamics, and safety systems.
  7. Scalable – Upgrade to higher flow pumps, bigger tanks, or semi-autonomous navigation.
