Parts Used:
  1. Specimen Rods (Ø8–12 mm, L = 250–500 mm): Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Steel
  2. Support Frame & Fixtures: One rigid fixed end + low-friction sliding/free end with probe tip
  3. Length Sensor:
  4. Dial Gauge (0–10 mm, 0.01 mm) or
  5. LVDT + signal conditioner (for higher resolution)
  6. Heating System (choose one):
  7. Water Bath with immersion heater + thermostat/PID
  8. Steam Jacket with inlet/outlet ports
  9. Electric Cartridge/Nichrome Heater with controller
  10. Temperature Sensing: PT100 (with MAX31865) / K-type thermocouple (MAX6675/31855)
  11. Insulation & Safety: Glass wool/ceramic fiber, heat shield, gloves, fuse/E-stop
  12. Data & Display (Optional): Arduino/ESP32, OLED/LCD, USB logging
  13. Ancillary: Beaker/tank, hoses, stand/clamps, power supply, wiring & connectors
