Energy Harvesting from Speed Breakers is an innovative project designed to generate electricity from the vertical motion of vehicles passing over speed breakers. When a vehicle moves across the specially designed speed breaker, the downward motion is transferred to a mechanical linkage system (such as a rack-and-pinion or lever mechanism). This mechanical energy drives a rotating shaft connected to a dynamo/alternator, which converts it into electrical energy.
The generated electricity is stored in a battery through a charge controller, and can be used to power street lights, traffic signals, or charge small electronic devices. This system is highly beneficial for busy highways, toll booths, parking areas, and city roads, where vehicle density is high.
