Arduino-based elevator control system

The Arduino-based Elevator Control System is a prototype designed to simulate the working of modern lifts/elevators used in buildings. It is built using an Arduino microcontroller, motor driver, sensors, and push buttons, enabling automatic floor selection, door control, and safety features.

This project demonstrates real-world elevator logic, including floor indication, up/down movement, and load safety mechanisms. It helps students understand automation, motor control, and embedded systems in building applications.

Parts Used:
  1. Arduino Uno / Mega – Central controller
  2. DC Motor / Stepper Motor + Driver (L293D / A4988) – Moves the elevator cabin
  3. Push Buttons / Keypad – Floor selection input
  4. IR Sensors / Limit Switches – Detect cabin position at each floor
  5. LCD / 7-Segment Display – Shows floor number and status
  6. Relay / MOSFETs – For motor and door control
  7. Buzzer / LED Indicators – Alerts for arrival and safety signals
  8. Power Supply (Battery/Adapter) – Provides operating power
