ATV with Independent Suspension

An All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with Independent Suspension is designed to travel on rough, uneven terrains while providing maximum stability, comfort, and control to the rider. In this system, each wheel is connected to the chassis with its own suspension linkages, allowing it to move independently when encountering bumps or dips. This reduces shock transfer to the chassis, improves handling, and maintains better tire contact with the ground.

Independent suspension in ATVs is widely used for off-road racing, agriculture, military applications, and adventure sports because of its superior performance compared to rigid axle systems.

Parts Used:
  1. ATV Frame/Chassis – lightweight yet strong steel or aluminum frame
  2. Independent Suspension System Components:
  3. Double Wishbone / MacPherson Strut / Trailing Arm setup (per wheel)
  4. Coilover Shocks or Spring-Damper Units
  5. Control Arms & Linkages
  6. Wheels & Tires – off-road tread for better grip
  7. Steering Mechanism – rack and pinion or tie-rod steering
  8. Engine / Motor – petrol/diesel engine or electric motor for propulsion
  9. Transmission & Differential – transfers power to wheels
  10. Braking System – disc brakes for all wheels
  11. Drive Shafts & CV Joints – for transmitting power while allowing suspension travel
  12. Handlebars / Steering Wheel – for rider control
