Home automation using Arduino

The Home Automation System using Arduino is a smart and cost-effective solution that allows users to control home appliances such as lights, fans, and other devices using a smartphone or remote interface. The system is built around an Arduino microcontroller, which acts as the brain of the project.

Using technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or IR sensors, the Arduino receives commands from a mobile app or remote device and switches appliances ON/OFF via relay modules. This project demonstrates how automation can save energy, improve convenience, and enhance safety in modern homes.

It is particularly useful for elderly and disabled people, as they can control appliances without moving around, making it an ideal example of affordable IoT-based home automation.

Parts Used:
  1. Arduino Board (UNO/Nano/MEGA) – Main controller.
  2. Relay Module – Switches home appliances ON/OFF.
  3. Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Module (HC-05 / ESP8266 / ESP32) – Wireless communication.
  4. Smartphone with App – User interface for controlling devices.
  5. Power Supply (5V/12V Adaptor) – Provides power to Arduino and relays.
  6. Home Appliances (Fan, Light, etc.) – Devices to be controlled.
  7. Switches & Indicators (Optional) – For manual operation and status display.
  8. Connecting Wires & PCB/Enclosure – For safe connections.
