Infrared remote-controlled appliances

The Infrared Remote-Controlled Appliances project is a smart automation system that allows users to operate household devices such as lights, fans, or TV using a simple IR remote control. The system uses an IR receiver module connected to a microcontroller (Arduino/8051/PIC), which decodes the infrared signals from the remote.

When the user presses a button on the remote, the corresponding signal is received, decoded, and processed by the microcontroller to activate a relay module that switches the appliance ON or OFF. This project is widely applicable in homes, offices, and classrooms for convenient appliance control.

Parts Used:
  1. Arduino UNO / 8051 / PIC Microcontroller – Main controller
  2. IR Receiver Module (TSOP1738 or similar) – Receives signals from remote
  3. IR Remote Control – User input device
  4. Relay Module – Switches appliances ON/OFF
  5. Home Appliances (Light, Fan, etc.) – Load devices
  6. Power Supply (5V/12V Adaptor) – Runs the system
  7. Connecting Wires & PCB/Enclosure – For safe assembly
