IOT-based smart home system

The IoT-Based Smart Home System is an advanced automation project that allows users to control and monitor home appliances remotely through the Internet of Things (IoT). Using a NodeMCU/ESP32 Wi-Fi module and a cloud platform (Blynk, MQTT, or Firebase), users can operate lights, fans, and other devices from anywhere in the world using a smartphone app or web dashboard.

The system also supports sensors such as temperature, humidity, motion, and gas detectors for enhanced safety and smart decision-making. For example, lights can automatically switch ON when motion is detected, or fans can turn ON when room temperature is high.

This project demonstrates the future of smart living where comfort, energy efficiency, and security are integrated into one system.

Parts Used:
  1. NodeMCU ESP8266 / ESP32 – Microcontroller with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  2. Relay Module (4/8 Channel) – Controls appliances.
  3. Smartphone with IoT App (Blynk/Custom App) – User interface.
  4. Sensors (Temperature, Humidity, PIR Motion, Gas Sensor, LDR) – For smart automation.
  5. Power Supply (5V/12V Adaptor) – To run controller and relays.
  6. Home Appliances (Light, Fan, TV, etc.) – Loads to be controlled.
  7. Cloud Platform (MQTT/Blynk/ThingSpeak) – For remote monitoring and control.
  8. Connecting Wires & Enclosure – For safe connections.
