Pneumatic Clutch Control System

A Pneumatic Clutch Control System uses compressed air to actuate the clutch release mechanism—reducing pedal effort and enabling semi-automatic or by-wire shifting. It drives a slave cylinder (or air-over-oil booster) via a solenoid valve, with sensors and a controller to shape a smooth, repeatable engagement curve.

Parts Used:
  1. Air Supply – 12 V compressor (5–8 bar) + air tank/accumulator, FRL (filter–regulator–lubricator), pressure gauge, relief valve.
  2. Control Valves3/2 or 5/2 solenoid DCV (single/double-acting slave), flow control valves (engage/release speed), quick-exhaust valve, check valves.
  3. ActuatorPneumatic slave cylinder (bore 40–50 mm, stroke 10–25 mm) or air-over-oil booster pushing the stock hydraulic slave/master.
  4. Mechanical Interface – Brackets, clevis, linkage to clutch fork/release lever, return spring (if single-acting).
  5. SensorsPedal/command input (push-button, Hall pedal, or shift-paddle), clutch position (limit switch/LVDT), engine RPM & neutral switch (optional interlocks).
  6. ElectronicsController (Arduino/ESP32/ECU), MOSFET/relay driver, wiring harness, E-stop/manual bypass.
  7. Pneumatic Lines – PU hoses, push-in fittings, muffler/silencer for exhaust.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Advantages:
  1. Low Effort, High Consistency – Dramatically reduces pedal force; repeatable engagement.
  2. Semi-Automatic Ready – Works with paddle/button shift logic; integrates with RPM/neutral interlocks.
  3. Retrofit Friendly – Bolts to clutch fork or drives existing hydraulic slave via booster.
  4. Tunable Feel – Flow/proportional control lets you set bite point & ramp profile.
  5. Safer Operation – Interlocks prevent mis-shifts; E-stop and manual bypass included.
