The Smart Dustbin with Sensor is an automation project designed to promote hygiene and convenience by making waste disposal touch-free. It uses an ultrasonic sensor connected to a microcontroller (Arduino/ESP32) to detect when a person’s hand or object is near the bin lid.

Once detected, the microcontroller activates a servo motor or DC motor to automatically open the lid. After a short delay, the lid closes again. This system is especially useful in homes, hospitals, offices, and public places, where maintaining hygiene is critical.
