A Tool Turret is a rotating tool holder used in lathes and CNC turning machines to hold multiple cutting tools at once. For a mini lathe, a compact turret allows the operator to quickly switch between tools without manually changing them, thus saving time and improving efficiency.

The turret can be manually indexed or motorized for automatic tool selection. This project demonstrates the mechanical design, indexing mechanism, and integration of a turret with a small lathe setup.

Parts Used:

1. Turret Disc – holds multiple cutting tools (e.g., 4–8 slots)
2. Indexing Mechanism – locks the turret into position for precise alignment
3. Bearing Housing – ensures smooth rotation of the turret
4. Base Plate & Mounting Bolts – attach turret to lathe carriage
5. Motor & Gearbox (for automatic version) – rotates turret to desired position
6. Control System (optional) – for motorized turret indexing
7. Cutting Tools – turning, facing, boring, parting tools, etc.
